all, i would sure appreciate your input on designing a menu.
here is an outline of what i'm trying to do.

the section on the left, i'll have a static image. that's the easy bit.

the sections on the right ...

for the text, do i type everything onto a blank canvas then warp/transform the image to fit the slant? or is there a better method? what is the application to use and what is the method/option from the application?

then, i would also like to put a mini clip in the middle of the right hand side, ie where the outline of the box is. again there is the slant to take care of. how do i do this?

any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.

DVD authoring (even the most pro package) is strictly rectangular selection overlay zones. This means no slanted text as an "active" selection item. My suggestion is to use text and then create an icon of some sort (even if it's a simple dot of light) to serve as selector.

In Photoshop, it's easy enough to create the slanted text, as part of the background image.
