Hello,
Just giving the heads up. I had purchased some verbatim DL discs at bestbuy a short time ago (5 pack). Although advertised as being an 8x burn speed disc, in actuality these are not 8x and I could only burn 2.4x tops on them. Its not my burner (pioneer 109). The same discs from Walmart (3 pack) I was able to burn at 4x and up (although never burning faster then 4x). It is not really a big deal but still something to watch for..

The Pioneer 109 only does up to 6x DL burning. And the MKM003 ID does not work so hot in the 109, but does okay in the 111 (not sure about the 110). The MKM003 will show as 2.4x only in the 109. I avoid them when possible, looking instead for the 2.4x-6x marked MKM001. You'll notice the 8x has an orange package, while the older discs are a lavender (light purple) package.

I was waitng for a reply as I was going to mention the 03 id code on this disc. Will keep watch then just for the 2.4-6x packaging from now on---
