What type of machine were they done on? Perhaps someone could help you with finalizing ...

Some machines finalize in various recorders. For example, JVC and Panasonic can finalize each other's discs. And then LiteOn can finalize discs from quite a few Dother VD+RW machines, like the Polaroid.

Deb- They were done on panasonic and some were done on JVC.
LS- is finalizing on a standalone the only way to finalize a disc that has been recorded on a dvd recorder? Is there any programs that can do this on the computer as i'm trying to find something that is quicker than just finalizing 2 at a time on the recorder(1 on JVC and 1 on Panasonic) i have like over 800 dvds that i need to finalize( more than 3/4 of them i'm planning on getting rid of via trades or blanks as they are taking up to much space.if anyone know of a better way let me know

You can finalize all of those on either a Panasonic or a JVC. If you don't have either recorder, just pick somebody to send them to, and I'm sure you could get some help on it.

Yes, this is the only way.
