I used my DVD recorder the other day and put together a DVD on a Memorex DVD-RW Disc. I then Watch the disc on the DVD player in my bedroom. So far, every thing is good. Then I went to make a copy of that disc and when I put it in my computer it read the disc and open the drive for me to put in a DVD disc to wring it on. I did that and clicked burn. Then this popped up.

This type of media in the recorder does not macth the source of media. Please choose a compatible media and try again.

I tried 3 different disc.
1. Philips DVD-R
2.Memorex DVD-R
3.and I tried the white top disc

Does any one know what's wrong?

Thanks for looking
Keith

You'll need to rip an ISO to the hard drive, sometimes you cannot copy a DVD-RW (+RW) directly to a DVD-R (+R), it'll act funny.

No insult meant, but you did finalize the disk right?

If you did and that is still a problem, I would just rip the files with shrink and burn with nero.

Yes, I did finalize the disc. The Disc play fine on all of my DVD player. I just can't get it to copy. I got The program to shrink the disc, but I don't have Nero. I've all ready used over 10 disc trying to get it to work. I'm just about willing to try any thing to get it to work. But, Should I just burn stuff on DVD-R's and not use DVD-RW's?

You do not need to shrink the disc.
It sounds like software error, what are you using to copy with?
Are you going drive to drive?

Are you sure you're putting a blank DVD in the drive, not a CD?

Personally I have found that when nothing else works Smart Ripper comes though. You rip the files with that then use something else to burn the disk back (get a trial version of Nero)
