Sony is always best, for modern televisions (and I've never been a big Sony fan).

I have a Vizio and it Rocks!! One of the top selling HD TVs for the best price. The colors are vivid and the picture is beautiful. Plus it has this cool Digital Noise reduction that cleans up grain.
