Sandman I like. Venom I can do without. There is WAY too much backstory they wont be able to introduce. I know there is NO way they are going to mention The Secret Wars for introduction of the suit. I hope Sam Raimi can keep the positive trend going!

Not that I don't believe it, but I wouldn't take Dunst's word for it.
Here's my Venom explanation:
In the Ultimate line of Spider-Man comics, Venom was created from a Cancer cure that Peter's father was working on before his death. Eddie Brock (Venom) was changed to be a child hood friend of Peter's that essentailly went down the wrong path.
Raimi has stated that he had no interest in Venom (the space alien version) in many interviews and also stated that he didn't select a villain until he had the idea for the story. He wanted a villain that reflected Peter's inner turmoil in every movie.
Anyway, the new Venom origin and character is much more of a dark, mirror image of Peter, and that's something i can see Grace playing and Raimi getting behind.

That version I could tolerate a little better. I always HATED that villain anyway. I do kinda like that origin story. I still would have preferred The Lizard as the other villain since we have already seen Dr. Curt Connors anyway!
