While in Haiti with the Jenkins-Penn Haitian Relief Organization, Sean Penn literally saved the lives of a woman and an orphan child who were seriously injured after a building collapsed on Thursday.

TMZ reports the actor, who is a founding member of the group working to bring relief to the people of Haiti, and his daughter Dylan drove an hour-and-a-half to rescue the woman and child who were trapped just outside Port-au-Prince.

“Penn helped extricate the woman, who suffered leg injuries, and the child, who suffered head injuries,” someone at the scene told TMZ.

As if those actions weren’t heroic enough, it’s reported that Penn then drove them to the University of Miami hospital camp in Port-au-Prince and waited while they were treated for their injuries.

The two to do not have a safe place to stay so Penn has taken them to where he is staying in Haiti.

The Jenkins-Penn Haitian Relief Organization Web site states that its mission is to save lives and bring relief to the Haitian people quickly and effectively. Sean Penn has certainly done that.
