Besides Sprint and Alltel-does anyone have any suggestions on what kind of phone I should get?

It depends on where you live and whether you want prepaid or contract service.

Well I have had alltel and sprint- I didn't care for either service. Mom has Alltel-sucks it takes me like 20 mins to send a short text message

If you want to try prepaid service, try Straight Talk. It's available thru Walmart. $30 for 1000 min, 1000 text, or for $45 unl everything. It has the best coverage.
