I have been trying to find footage of a 1980's children's show that featured two clowns that went by the names "Sonny and Poppy" (not sure of the spelling). I used to watch this show as a kid and remember that the clown named "Poppy" would say that he was a potato bug and they would show pictures of a real potato bug.

I have been searching the Internet for days and haven't found anything. I'm not sure if the show was local or regional or even national (which I doubt) for that matter, but if someone could help me find this show or lead me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it.

In the 80s, they still had some regional kids shows -- especially clowns, Mr. Wizards, science guys, etc. Was it maybe a regional show, not a national one? That may explain your difficulty. I have the same issue with some night shows in the 80s. I just cannot find them.

We used to have a lot of independent stations back then. Now there are almost none.

Was it “Club 27”? I found the end credits on YouTube but the clowns names are listed as Poppy and Bonkers so I'm not sure if it's the one you're looking for.
