We are running mostly Windows 2003, R2, SP2 Server at my company. We are rolling out a new application to several sights and guess what is required on the server for it to run properly......wait for it....wait for it...NETBEUI! Are you freakin' kidding me?! We now have to install NETBEUI on all the servers running this app. Why in the world we went with this I have no idea. DOS based computing, gotta love it.

I haven't had to use NETBEUI in almost a decade! Talk about a piece of crap protocol! Did someone tell them that we're in the 21st century now?? lol!

I had to use it at work -- but only for a short while. We were using 1990s servers at the time. One of the first PO's I put through was a Win2K3 Dual Xeon.

it sucks, but legacy apps, gotta love'em. It's these new programs that need it that piss me off.

It's hard to understand how any 'new' program would utilize NETBEUI! Those application developers should be taken out back and shot!

I had to change a bunch of Node settings on my NIC's today, discovered they were all set wrong, and it solved my networking communication problem of computers not seeing each other very well.
