This should be great. He's always said the original 1930's Kong was his favorite film. He even owns the original model used for Kong used in the film. If you've watched any of the production diary videos over at http://www.kongisking.net/, you'll see it's really a lobor of love for him.

LOTR trilogy was also a labor of love for him and those are some of the best fantasy films ever! I think this will rock! Andy Serkis(Gollum) is doing the motion-capture for Kong! I cant wait for this movie...especially since all of the co-called summer blockbusters have pretty much SUCKED!!!

I like the trailer - much more like the original Willis O'Brien movie than the Dino Delaurentis flick (although it has its moments, too). Interesting to see Jack Black doing a more serious role. Andy Serkis also plays the cook on the ship.

I hope the release of this film also encourages more stuff on the original - there was a series of short specials on Willis O'Brien broadcast on PBS back in the early '70s that I would love to see again.

Did you see some of the early toy images? Oy! Kong arms indeed!
