In my Vehicle Voltron Box 1 booklet the last page contained a ad for Madman's Retro Collection

At the bottom had a pic of the Kimba the White Lion Boxed set and said September 2005 and next to it was a big box with a black and white Astroboy picture and said "Astroboy 60's Deluxe Collection" coming soon!

Scanned this in from the booklet

Oooh! I have the Kimba on order, but I hadn't seen anything on the Astro Boy. Woo-hoo! I have the '80s version of Astro Boy Australian release - complete with tin. Very cool. Nice packaging. Hopefully the '60s version will be as nice or nicer. And I have the first season of the 2004 Astro Boy from Australia, and then I got the Sony release earlier this year.

Oh, this is a very good year to be a Tezuka fan!

I just checked the Madman web site (http://www.madman.com.au/), and the release date for the 1960s Astro Boy - 104 episodes - is November 23. Unfortunately, I think there is a typo on the web site, because the running time is listed at 1200 minutes, which only works out to around 50 episodes. This may in fact be set #1 as it's listed on Madman's site, although the press release claims it's the complete 104 English-language episodes. Kimba (52 episodes) releases September 21. According to the web site, both will release for $149.95AUD.

I have an Australian trader with all the episodes of Astroboy (60's) on tape, and it seems that video company used his episodes to create English dubs of their Japanese videos to create their final product. Needless to say, he will receive the new product (which he says is coming out this month) and he wants to trade it with me. I'll keep you all up to date on this.
