Who here (other than me) is going to go see Superman at the theaters? I think it looks really good, and am happy to see they kept the original music.

anyone else notice in the tv teasers for it, it mentions the film being in Imax 3d. I would love to see it that way!

I've never really understood the draw to IMAX (formerly Omni Theatre). When I was a kid, it was neat to see nature shows, get scared by earthquakes and dinosaurs. I went a couple years ago to see a normal movie in IMAX, and all I got as a neckache trying to look around to see the picture. Widescreen IMAX also sucks. I paid 2-3x as much, but felt like I got a worse experience than a good old stadium-seating movie theatre.

But hey, whatever floats your boat.

I guess it depends where you go, we went to see Fantasia 2000 in IMAX and it was great, the key for us was sitting at the top level since you dont have to strain to look. But I agree if it is setup wrong or the wrong type of movie I would probably be very upset. We went to see Beauty and the Beast in IMAX in MD in 2003 at the Baltimore Science Center and all I got was a headache because there was so much going on and the theatre was not setup for it

People often make the mistake of sitting up front or in the middle but either way you will not see it all, sitting at the top row allows you to look down and at the sides

I dont know about TX but I know in Kansas City the IMAX showings are around $9 which is on par with regular ticket prices so its a neat experience.

The difference though is that if they show a film at imax it just says see it at theaters and imax (like Lord of the Rings for example) however this one says IMAX 3D, which to me assumes that they made a 3d print of the film. This is what caught my interest.

"Using IMAX's revolutionary live action 2D to 3D conversion technology, approximately 20 minutes of the motion picture will be converted into 3D."

I did see it this past weekend, man was it good! I'm gonna go see it again more than likely. It left open all kinds of possibilities for several sequels. For once, they did something right!
