At the San Diego Comic-Con, the Gumby Essentials DVD set was announced. The DVD will contain Gumby episodes from the 1960's, 1970's, and 1980's selected by Gumby creator Art Clokey. All the cartoons on the collection will be digitally remastered, and the 1950's cartoons will be fully restored to their original 11-minute running time.

The DVD is scheduled for release on September 4, 2007. Toon Zone News received a copy of the front and back of the flyer announcing the DVD, which contains details on some of the included episodes and more information about extras. Click the images for larger versions.

I realize this is an old post, but I have a copy of the Australian complete series and it rocks. You should get one too.

You know, I never really watched Gumby. The claymation I remember most what the Sunday morning Davey and Goliath. I sometimes think Gumby just never aired on my local stations, or that it was competing with something more interesting.

Australia has some of the best DVD sets. They had Smurfs, after all!
