Alvin and the Chipmunks will not be eligible for the Best Animated Feature Oscar, Variety reports. The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences has ruled against the film's eligibility because animation figures in less than 75 percent of its running time.

Beowulf, however, will qualify, as the Academy has decided that motion capture counts as animation.

Have you seen Beowulf yet? Incredible. Shrek is crappy compared to beowulf.

I m not huge fan of Cgi but this was really good. It reminded me a little of baski in terms of style .
Animation over live action. Very smooth realistic looking. Definitely a movie to be viewed at Imax theater
