I need some good suggestions about how to overcome this problem. I thought I had recorded the season finale of Hell's Kitchen on both of my DVD recorders- JVC MS10 (in VR -R mode to watch with my wife) and my RCA 8300 which uses the +R format. Well I goofed up and put the wrong date in on my RCA so I'm stuck with a disc which has the eps I want in VR mode. I've tried converting them to DVD-Video with VSO ConvertX and Nero 7,but for some reason it keeps chopping off the last 5 minutes of the show. Otherwise the quality is great.
I'm still stuck with a disc which has the complete ep recorded in VR mode. Any suggestions on what I should do? I was thinking of using a Ulead program to try converting it because I hear it supports VR mode and can convert. I might try connecting the JVC to the RCA and record from it, but this JVC is always a pain to deal with.
I might of screwed the disc up by finalizing, but it still plays the complete ep on the JVC. Help Please!!

I have been reading that TDA will read this format and convert it to VOB files and you can add menus.
I have done this also before but I used DvD2AVI to create a frameserve file and an audio file which I loaded up into TMPGEnc to convert to mpeg2 and then burned onto a disc.

The only recording of the show I want is recorded in VR mode, not DVD Video Mode off of the JVC. That is my problem, I've tried converting it to DVD Video mode with Nero 7 and another program but it keeps cutting the last 5 minutes of the show off.

I was just reading up about the TMPG DVD AUTHOR programs. Which one of the programs would be best for editing and doing menus of shows I've recorded with my DVD recorders?
By the way, the Washington/Oregon coast is beautiful this time of year.

For some of my projects I use 1.6, I believe 2.0 is out, but some of the reviews I have read by users are not very positive. Duncan has a great tutorial on how to make the window for the motion menu just about any shape you want rather than the standard that come with the program
