Is there special hardware needed to dub over from a DVD player to a JVC recorder? It keeps mentioning an I-link or something. I have the JVC DR M10 and the newer version.

I-link is the fancy name for IEE1394 (a.k.a. DV input). The DVD player is no different than a VCR, connect via composite or s-video.

But I have to ask, why on earth would you copy a DVD using a DVD recorder? That won't look good.

I'm copying some VCDS on to DVD. I've already converted them using several different software programs, but I have to admit I actually think they look better copying them on to a DVD and then editing as I see fit. I can do it on my other DVD recorder, but I having some problems with these JVC DVD recorders
