I want to try something. I originally talked about this back in 2005, but never had the time. I find myself wanting to do less projects, and instead teach others how to do them.

My computers and setups are more powerful now, I can do this like I want. It was harder back in 2005.

These are going to be videos. No audio, just watch my mouse work magic. I'll put text in where needed, to explain things.

What I propose is this:

1. Somebody requests a guide for a certain topic. I would want to be compensated for my time, as these do take a good bit of time to put together (a 2-minute video can take 30 minutes to do). It would be anywhere from $10 to $30 for a guide on a topic.

2. For the good of the community, the guide will be posted on the site when it's done.

Basically, you're making donations to the site, and getting direct benefit from it. Several different people could pay for several different guides to be made, and everybody benefits.

It's a hell of a lot cheaper than buying a book, and it addresses your exact want, not just a generic topic like those books do. Learn video for your hobby, for your exact project, not something generic and useless to your situation.

Thoughts?

Any takers?
