When I double-click on a hard drive or my thumb drive in My Computer, it doesn't open like it should. Instead, it gives me an "Open With" window asking me what program I want to use to open it. It's irritating because it's a disk drive, not a file. My external hard drives used to open in a new window, instead of the same window but now they have the same problem I mentioned above. I can't figure out how to fix this problem. Can anybody help me with this?

This is a virus -- this was the SAME VIRUS my brother infected my systems with a couple weeks ago. It was a thumb-drive virus. Disable your autoplays !!!!

Look for some piece of crap called "boot.com" as a hidden file anywhere on your computer, or in your registry. This is a pervasive little pest, hard to get rid of. It might have infected all of your external hard drives and thumb drives.

Google for it some more.

Also look at this: http://www.winhelponline.com/article...-Computer.html

You have autoplays all over your system, it appears.
