"Oban," "W.I.T.C.H." Lead Off Jetix Summer Events

The Jetix Big Blockbuster Summer will kick off on Monday, June 5, with the hour-long premiere of Oban Star Racers and the second season of W.I.T.C.H., Toon Disney has announced. Original episodes of Power Rangers Mystic Force will follow on June 12.

Based on an original short, Oban Star Racers mixes 2D and 3D animation with anime and sci-fi stylings to chronicle the Greatest Race of Oban in the year 2082. Earth's heroes are led by Molly, a rebellious fifteen-year-old, who teams with her gunner Jordan to survive against the aggressive and powerful alien Crogs. The series is a co-production of Jetix Europe, Sav! The World Productions, France 3, Super RTL, Bandai Visual, and Hal Film Maker.

Oban Star Racers will premiere on Toon Disney on June 5 at 8:30pm (ET/PT) with encore airings on Friday, June 9, at 8:00pm and on Saturday, June 10, at 10:30am on ABC Famly. Half-hour episodes will air on Toon Disney on Mondays at 8:00pm and on ABC Family on Saturdays at 10:30am.

The second season of W.I.T.C.H. will debut on Monday, June 5, at 9:30pm on Toon Disney and on Saturday, June 10, at 11:30am on ABC Family.

Power Rangers Mystic Force will premiere with a three-hour marathon on Monday, June 12, at 7:00pm on Toon Disney and on Saturday, June 17, at 9:00am on ABC Family. The last hour of each marathon will feature brand new episodes and the introduction of the newest power ranger, Solaris Knight.

Viewers are also invited to vote online to choose their favorite Jetix hero in the categories of teamwork and adventure. Results will be showcased on the Jetix Herow Awards, which will be broadcast during Jetix programming on Friday, June 2, beginning at 7:00pm and on Saturday, June 3, beginning at 8:30am on ABC Family.
