Marvel has released the first drawings and character details for the new Captain America, set to debut in Captain America #34 on January 16, 2008. The new Captain America design incorporates many elements from the original Captain America designs and includes a .45 caliber pistol and a knife carried in the shield from the movie serials in 1944. The new Captain America was designed by Alex Ross in conjunction with series writer Ed Brubaker, penciler Steven Epting, and editor Tom Brevoort.
