got a bunch of 720p files. would like to author them so i can playback the episodes from a menu rather than playing the individual files.

so, is there a way to author 720p?
i do not want to downscale them to dvd resolution.

Only as Blu-ray, where 720p is part of the specs.

A DVD is, by definition, 480i/576i or 480p/576p video (and 240p/288p at CIF resolution). Therefore 720p is illegal, and will be rejected or converted by any and all DVD-Video authoring applications. Most authorware doesn't even support the full compliant DVD-Video, much less allow for non-compliant streams. The closest app to ever allow non-compliance was your favorite DVD-Lab Pro, but even it would reject 720p.

Just do what I do -- get a Samsung Blu-ray player or WDTV Plus and watch the files.

I use Serviio (DLNA freeware) to network my Blu-ray player to my computer.
