bought a dvd set which comes in a cardboard cover. previous owner partially removed the labels on the cover. however, this still left some sticky bits of the label.

so when the boxset was posted, the inside of the envelope got stuck to the cover.

so how best to remove the envelope bits + the remainder of the label without doing too much damage to the cardboard cover?

use bits of water & sponge?
alcohol?

I usually use a blow dyer. The heat melts the glue and the label comes of pretty easy after that.

I use Goo Gone on a paper towel to clean off the adhesive that's left behind. I use a dry paper towel afterward to clean off the Goo Gone. I then leave it sit out overnight to let it dry.
