Hi All,

I can't recall if this question has been brought up before or not, but, I am trying to decide which region free DVD PLAYER to buy. Should I just go with the Cyberhome 300 model that already have or should I purchase one of the following players?

http://220giftcenter.com/XV-N44SL.htm

Thanks for any help I can get.

Dan D.

I would avoid Pioneer, troubles with homemade audio.
One of my friends has a JVC, it works well.

If you want an "extra" player, I'd do the cyberhome.
If you're wanting to get a long-lasting primary player, the JVC.

The Cyberhome 300 is a good one to have. I have 2 of them.

I love my Philips. I bought it because it was a deal one day on Amazon.com and I found a good remote hack on vcdhelp.com, and I've since read a bunch of reviews that give it high marks for image quality on the non-region 1 discs. It handles layer changes nicely, too, which can be a problem with some decks. My Daewoo has an anti-Macrovision hack (I bought it that way) that makes it unable to play any home-burned discs, but other than that, I really, really like it for all regions.

Dan, I'd be interested in hearing about your experience with this company - my brother's been looking for a region-free JVC for years, and if they prove reliable, that JVC deck would make a great Chanukkah present this year.

I have a JVC DVD Player and I love it. Good features. Good Price. Very reliable.
Mine is the XV-N312 model you have listed. Like I said, no complaints. I don't know how much you pay in the US for a Cyberhome 300, but I have never heard that brand before either. I bought this JVC for $99 Canadian Dollars. (That is about $5 US I think, LOL).
